Dobson-Grey provided multi discipline services including valuation, town planning and fire consultancy as part of pre acquisition due diligence. The role of Dobson-Grey was varied but in the context of Fire we highlighted the Fire Safety requirements under the required legislation and looked at the change of use impact of taking a domestic barn conversion into a 4 bedroom residential care facility. The role was to ensure that the client was aware of the potential renovation and Fire Safety upgrade costs if the premise was purchased.

- Travel Distances changes
- Emergency light requirements
- Fire Alarm installation and positioning
- External Fire escape stair positioning
- Fire equipment (Extinguisher) requirements
The pre purchase report delivered by Dobson-Grey enabled Forge Care to establish a refurbishment costs that the legally required extra Fire Safety works would incur ensuring that the purchase and change of use was still a viable project for them to move forward with.
