Dobson-Grey Limited provided CDM Co-ordinator Services to the Port in partnership with Port Engineering Services for the duration of the STS Crane Project. The role required regular liaison with the Spanish Crane Designers Paceco and the Contractors URSSA.
Ensuring that the Port of Tilbury complied with their Client duties under the CDM regulations including a competency review of the designers Paceco and their main contractor URSSA, which involved site meetings and visits in Madrid and Bilbao.
Dobson-Grey ensured that there was a good coordination within the design team, including planning and preparation for the construction work, identifying and distributing pre-construction information and advising the Port where required.
This included liaison with the Spanish safety team and interpreting the requirements of CDM for the Principal Contractor so they were compliant with UK legislation.
Dobson-Grey managed the flow of safety information between clients, designers and contractors, reviewing of the Principal Contractors Health & Safety Plan ensuring arrangements for co-ordinators of ongoing design work were covered.
Maintaining regular safety inspections and reviews of the Construction site. Investigation of accidents and near misses and delivery of a suitable Health & Safety File in liaison with Paceco.
