The Framework Challenge: Upgrading a Phase 3 SRP school (working with Bowmer + Kirkland) involving a complex array of stakeholders, including a sports centre, local nursery, parents, and the community. The project faced immediate roadblocks including a neighbour expressing specific concerns regarding the proposals, and the potential loss of playing fields which risked formal objections from Sport England.
The Dobson-Grey Intervention: Our team coordinated the public consultation and proactively engaged early with local Sir John Hayes MP and a concerned neighbour to address their specific issues. We also initiated proactive, early engagement with Sport England to navigate the playing field constraints and manage overall stakeholder expectations through effective, continuous communication.
The Outcome: Planning Permission granted by South Holland District Council under Officers’ delegated powers. Both the neighbour and Sport England objections were successfully addressed. Regular dialogue with the planning officer minimised the number of planning conditions attached to the decision and ensured pre-commencement conditions were discharged promptly, bypassing construction delays.
